We are told to love the skin we're in. I guess that means the itchy, scaly and dry skin as well. It needs a little love. Right?! The best way to show that love is to spread a trustworthy and effective skincare line all over in hopes to bring a little hydration to it. Bring it back to life!
Dry skin runs in my family. I should know because my skin is the absolute worst. No matter how much lotion I later onto my skin, it somehow looks and feels as if it has nothing on it at all. I have grown a bit frustrated over the years. I barely want to expose my legs because of this. And to make matters worse, both of my boys suffer from dry skin as well.
Liam just turned one year old. From an early age, I noticed his legs would also dry out faster than the rest of his body. I would give him bath, dry him off, spread lotion all over him and minutes later it would look as though none of this was done. I even started to notice he would scratch his bottom while I was changing his diaper as if his skin was irritated from the dryness. I tried bathing him less frequently to make sure I wasn't stripping his skin of natural oils. I would wipe him off if he was dirty and just put a bit of lotion on him for the day. Still, it would result in the same thing.
Product after product after product. We have tried everything. And I mean everything. But we had not tried the Mustela product line until we received some for review. We have been testing them out over the last week to see if they make a difference in the way Liam's skin looks and feels.
Here is what Liam's legs look like after he has been dried off:
You will notice there is not a lot of shine to his leg, as one would expect. However, his skin is also a bit scaly immediately following a dip in the water. We used HydraBebe Body Lotion on his skin to give it a boost. Even though the lotion looks thick, it was absorbed into his skin quickly. It did not leave an oily feel or mess either. That is a bonus. I don't want to mess my clothes up or Liam's clothes. I also like the smell of the lotion. It's rather neutral in the sense that it does not cater to a boy or girl unevenly. Both can wear this lotion. It's soft and subtle.
Had I know there was a product like the Mustela Hydra stick with Cold Cream Nutri-protective, I would have already of had my hands on it. Liam has the most dry and scaly cheeks. I think he looks adorable, but I know that his skin needs protection. I love the convenient size of this product. I can carry it in my purse and whip it out whenever, not only for Liam's cheeks, but for his lips as well. With the weather here lately being windy and cold, this will get a lot of use.
The other two Mustela products are the Facial Cleaning cloths and Stretch Marks Care Oil. Both are great everyday items. For the cleaning cloths, I would use them on the mornings when we had to make a quick run out of the house and I did not have time to give Liam a full bath. They came in handy for wiping away crust in his eye, a dry nose and giving his face a refresher.
Although I am no longer pregnant, I still find great use in the Stretch Marks Care Oil. It can be uses as more of a preventive factor. As we know, stretch marks can appear at any phase of our life. One does not have to be pregnant. I love this product because it serves as a great moisturizer for my skin as well.
I received a lot of positive feedback online from my followers on social media. Most of them said they loved the Mustela products and shared how successful they had been when trying to treat their child's eczema or dry skin. This made me feel good about having the product available for use. I hope that it will yield the same results for us and help cure Liam's dry skin.

Mustela, the number one baby care and stretch marks brand in Europe and a trusted name in skincare for over 60 years, recently reformulated their Mustela Bébé product line based on 10 years of skin research. Now featuring a patented, next generation protective ingredient, Avocado Perseose, the Mustela Bébé line helps protect skin starting at the earliest stages of life.Up first, we used Mustela 2 in 1 Hair and Body wash. I like when a product functions as more than one thing. I used this on Liam's body and his hair for a complete bath. It makes it easier to just have one product to cover all my bath time needs. Liam can grow a bit impatient if I am fumbling all over the place looking for several different bottles. This gives me the ability to squirt the product on his head and body and go.
