Box Tops for Education Back to School Basket Giveaway #spon #btfe ~ CLOSED

If you saw a dime on the ground, would you pick it up? Most likely you would. Heck, with the way things are these days, I'd pick up a penny, too. The same effort should be made when collecting Box Tops For Education for your child's school.

As you may or may not know, the Box Tops for Education program started in 1996. Elementary and Middle schools all across the country, over 90,000 to be exact, participate in these fundraising efforts by clipping Box Tops (as pictured above) from over 240+ designated products. Schools can also earn credit when, know as eBoxTops, by shopping online through the Box Tops For Education Marketplace. Each Box Top is worth $.10 that can be turned into your school, where a coordinator will submit them and receive a check for the total amount collected. Schools can earn up to $20,000 to purchase school supplies, equipment, computers, books, etc.

Now, tell me one reason why you wouldn't participate. Even if you cannot afford to purchase any of the participating products or shop online to earn Box Tops, it never hurts to ask a neighbor, friend or family member if they have any that are not being used. You will find that not all households have a child that attends school to send their Box Tops For Education in. A lot of people aren't even aware of the program. This is  your chance to spread the word.

Last year's panel. This year panel includes new members.

As a member of the Box Tops for Education Blogger Panel, I work closely with General Mills to spread awareness about the program, offer insight on how to improve the program and create new ways to increase the fundraising efforts at local schools in my community.

Now that my son is in middle school, I am now focusing on their efforts. In fact, I am suppose to meet with the coordinator from the school next week to talk about ways we can achieve even more with the Box Tops for Education program.

For now, I have a basket of goodies to offer one reader. It is filled with items baring the Box Tops For Education coupon, a t-shirt, a mug and a collection jar. This will be a great start to your school year and hopefully it will inspire you to collect even more.

Get this – In February, Box Tops For Education reached a milestone of $500 million in earnings since its start in 1996. Let's keep the momentum going.
