Happy July 4th, Independence Day! #fireworks

Last night, we got an early start on celebrating July 4h, Independence Day. A local community, known as Chesapeake Beach, houses hundreds of people on the boardwalk as fireworks are shot from a boat on the water. The rain almost put a damper on the day, but it finally disappeared in time for the show.

There were so many familiar faces. It felt like a high school reunion. There were also food vendors. I munched on mozzarella sticks and french fries. Kaden decided to go the fun route and snack on a funnel cake. We both had Rita's Italian Ice. Yum!

Liam did great. He slept for a bit, then finally woke up to all the excitement. He loves the outdoors, so it is always easier to manage him with a fresh breeze as the backdrop.

Kaden had more fun playing with his cousin, Isaiah, than watching the fireworks. They had the audacity to play a fireworks game on his iPad while the show was going on. So much for unplugging. Oh well, it's summer time.

I guess if you want to get technical, every day is a day to celebrate our freedom. I thank God for all of the men and women who fight and risk their lives each day to maintain this liberties. You are true heroes.

If you do nothing else today, make sure you thank God. It's obvious that if you're reading this, he woke you up this morning.

Here are a few pictures from the night.

What are your plans for today?!
