I was devastated when my tiny, four-weeks-early baby could not latch on to my humongous breasts (well, the nipple, not the entire breast). At twenty years old, I was quite impressed with my determination to breastfeed my son. I could have easily thrown in the towel and kissed the whole commitment thing in the butt.
But I kept trying.
And trying.
And crying.
And trying.
Eventually, it worked and breastfeeding became the most precious time I was able to spend with Kaden.
I did come with a price, though. I rented a hospital grade pump from a local lactation center for some ridiculous amount. It helped me to express milk from my super engorged breasts and to prepare bottles for my little guy. This way, I was able to get in a few hours at work and allow others to feed him. Pumping wasn't always the greatest, but it was a life-saver for me.

Obviously I have not been able to test this breast pump out. I am patiently waiting for baby to arrive. Hopefully, we will have a success story to share. My last pregnancy proved that I was a milk-making machine. I had no problem expressing milk at all. At one point, I thought I was a cow. I'm hoping the same situation occurs this time around (minus the cow comparison).

I am still quite fascinated with the whole miracle of being able to supply my child with milk from my body. It is amazing. I always say that you have to be a believer in some higher power after witnessing something so miraculous as this.
If you have never considered breastfeeding, I would highly recommend giving it a shot. I'm not one for judging women who choose not to, I just think we all should experience this process at least once. It can't hurt.
