Escape From Planet Earth $25 Visa Gift Card & Prize Pack Giveaway
On Valentine's Day (well, the day after, 2/15), I'm not ashamed to admit that I may be on a date with my son. After all, what could be more romantic than sharing a bucket of popcorn and a box of candy while watching the new 3D animated film, "Escape From Planet Earth"? (Please don't answer this)
I am a bit behind on my animated game. The last movie I saw was...ummm...well...I'll just have to get back to you on that one. But I promised myself I would line up a few mother-son moments with Kaden before we add another little fella to the mix. Before you know it, April will be here.
Escape From Planet EarthThe 3D animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA.
When BASA’s no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary’s warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner) it’s up to scrawny, risk-averse Gary to do the real rescuing. As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure-hungry son Kip (Jonathan Morgan Heit).
If my memory serves me correctly, I'll be the loudest one in the theater. My laughter usually competes with all the other children. That is part of the reason why I love viewing animated movies – the atmosphere is always so colorful and carefree. A little (or a lot) of laughter can go a long way.
