BrickFair to Unite LEGO Enthusiasts in VA Aug. 4 - 5 + Giveaway

Admit it. You've shared a few choice words with the tiny Lego block you stepped on, left mistakenly on the floor by your child.

I have.
Still do.
OUCH!!!

I make threats at least once a week that I am going to toss all of my son's Legos in the trash because there is always one rebellious brick that is out of place. It's as if they multiply or they wait patiently for you to walk by and then move in for the kill. I don't have the courage to throw any of them away though.

All bark. No bite...or loss of a brick.

Just some of his LEGO bricks he's accumulated over the years
One of many LEGO creations by my son
If I'm being honest, I owe an apology to all the Legos I've come in contact with. They have supplied my son with countless opportunities to be creative and several quiet moments for me. He is rather relaxed when piecing together the colorful pieces. The best part about these sessions is seeing his face light up when he builds something functional. I've seen my fair share of tow trucks, shuttle transporters, motorized cranes and anything else you can quite possibly think of.

This Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 4th and 5th, BrickFair, the largest LEGO fan festival in the USA, will hit the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. From 11am to 4pm on both days, everyone is invited to browse Lego creations from over 1,000+ exhibitors. You may look, but do not touch. However, there is a Stay-n-Play area that will allow children to express their creativity using tons of bricks.

When making plans, give yourself approximately 90 minutes to browse the show. There is a lot to see and you probably will not get to see it all. But you cannot miss this popular event that will be visited by 17,000+ people.

BrickFair has an entrance fee of $10 -- one guest, any age (under 3 is FREE), one day. There are not any tickets. You pay at the door.

Strollers are not permitted. Parking is free at the event.

The location of BrickFair 2012 is: Dulles Expo Center, 4320 Chantilly Center Chantilly, VA 20153.
