DreamWorks' Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted Hits Theaters Friday, June 8 #crowdtapper
I cannot tell you how many times I have fallen asleep singing the 'Afro Circus' song, made popular by Marty, the hilarious zebra whose voice is brought to life by comedian Chris Rock. It is only one aspect of the new DreamWorks Animation Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted movie that will leave you laughing out loud...literally. The people sitting around me can confirm this. I laughed louder than the children.
Oh well!
Last Saturday, Kaden and I attended a pre-screening of Madagascar 3 in 3D at AMC Mazza Gallerie in Washington, D.C. thanks to DreamWorks and Crowdtap.
It was a perfect Saturday morning. We took the Metro from a local station near home into the city. Pre-screenings require ample planning because the seats are not guaranteed, no matter if you have a ticket or not. I was fortunate that the 10:30 AM showing of Madagascar 3 was not full when we arrived. There were plenty of seats available.
We sat in the front of the theater. Kaden worried that we were too close, but I convinced him that this was the perfect spot. Besides, AMC theatres have reclining seats and large movie screens. We were also treated to the 3D version of the movie, so it actually felt like some of the characters were right in our face during certain scenes.
The laughs started immediately. I think this is my favorite part about attending animated films– everyone let's their hair down (or Afro wig) and enjoys themselves. Laughter from a child is so infectious. I could not help but join in. The funny one-liners kept coming and coming. There was no shortage of giggles. There are a few lines that only older children and adults will understand.
I liked the new characters added to this movie. I won't give it all away, but there is a woman who is quite the character. She is suppose to be a villain, but I found myself laughing at her as well. She gained cool points for rocking red lipstick. You'll know exactly who she is when you see the movie.
The music in the movie is fantastic. Of course there has to be a few scenes where the characters are dancing and singing along. You'll be thrilled to discover a popular Katy Perry song is included in Madagascar 3. I think most people in the theater were jamming. I wanted to get up and dance.

My son and I were provided complimentary tickets to attend a pre-screening at a local theater thanks to DreamWorks and Crowdtap. There was no monetary compensation for writing this post. All opinions are my own.
