A Baby is on the Way! #TTC Conceive Easy Giveaway ~CLOSED
For someone...just not me!
At 31 years old, with one child, I often question my decision to not have any more children. I feel like that ship has sailed or that the siblings would be too far apart (my son is ten). I also need to get my health in order before I even consider using my body as a vessel to bring another life into the world. The thought crosses my mind nearly as much as a pedestrian walking in front of a car in a busy city. If you do the math, that equals A LOT!
I did not struggle to conceive my child. At the young age of twenty, I'm not even sure there was any planning involved. It was more a combination of hormones and recklessness. But the end result was worth it, despite any hardships that came with being a young mother.
What happens now that I'm older?
If I decide to have another child, will it be difficult?
Will my age become a factor?
Are my "eggs" ready?
Is my body functioning correctly?
I couldn't help but think how blessed I was to be able to conceive a child with zero complications. In a way, I felt guilty. How could this successful, married and financially stable women NOT be blessed with a child? What had I done to deserve a problem-free impregnation?
I realized that blessings come in all forms and ultimately, what is meant to be...will be. But that doesn't mean you can't search for hope in different places.

Women seriously overestimate their ability to become pregnant in their 30s and 40s, according to a recent National Infertility Association poll of 1,000 women ages 25-35. Most respondents believed women in their 30s have a 70 percent chance of conceiving and that 40-year-olds have a 60 percent chance. However, the reality is that a healthy 30-year-old has only a 20 percent chance of conceiving naturally each month – and by age 40, that number drops down to just 5 percent.I laid in bed the other day watching an episode of the Style Network's "Giuliana & Bill". I cried on several instances – her breast cancer diagnosis, the unconditional love shown by husband and wife and of course, Giuliana's numerous failed attempts at In vitro fertilization (IVF).
