Don't be alarmed if you didn't answer yes to any of these questions. You're welcome to be a spectator at the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival Artist Show coming to Timonium this weekend.

This has to be my favorite piece:

Jewelry by Cynthia Chuang

This year marks the 35th Anniversary of the festival and will showcase the work from a jury-selected group of talented artist. Items include: decorative pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, wood, metal, furniture, home accessories, photography, and fine art

Hat by Aldona Kudirka

Textiles by Wendy Allen

Tunic Jacket by Ira Lances

Of these available pieces of work, there are four new groups of items that have been added this year.
Fashion: Fashion artists are creating versatile wearables that can be worn in a variety of innovative ways: new this season, sweaters, shawls and shrugs double as scarves or belts with a few twists, fashion-forward outerwear serves double duty as dresses or blouses.

Jewelry: This season, the trend for jewelry artists is combining traditional metals with found objects. Craftspeople are incorporating beach glass, driftwood, windshield shards or old coins as stylized, hip “repurposed” accessories.

Home Décor: The buzzword this season is “raw.” Wood coffee tables, chairs and lamps are retaining their natural shape, color and textures. For metal artists, less is indeed more, as they use their skill to accentuate the inherent qualities of their materials.

Fine Art: Digital images and techniques are more prevalent in painting, printmaking and photography; fine artists are manipulating images to create one-of-a-kind collectibles.

Bring the entire family for a day filled with entertainment. Not only will you get a look at unique pieces from talented artists, you will also enjoy live demonstrations of various artistic methods.  Available for sampling and purchasing will be a host of gourmet foods and seasonal favorites. Listen to the a live music, participate in interactive dress-up theater, and have an all around good time.
