We Survived The Great Wolf Lodge Waterslide-athon

The Wolf Pack (Kaden, Wiley, Isaiah)

The boys were excited the entire trip (and left 3 shades darker)
This weekend was filled with testosterone, water slides, and wolves. Kaden, Ian, cousin Isaiah and I headed to The Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. We left Maryland around six o'clock, made a stop at Sonic Drive-Thru, and hit the road to arrive at our final destination.

A tease of part of the water park from the lobby window

Upon walking in the lobby, there was an immediate jolt of energy that hit you. The guests were dancing in their pajamas to some of the hottest and popular songs out. I overheard Kaden whisper to Isaiah, "I like this already. It was our family's first time visiting. We were thrilled to get checked in and head to our room.

Not even 10 minutes in, and I was immediately whisked away to explore the lodge. After changing into their pajamas, the boys wanted to head to the Northern Lights arcade- one of several activities located at the Great Wolf Lodge. We managed to get a few games in before the 11 PM closing time. It was hard for everyone to fall asleep. Excitement was in the air. The room was cozy, the atmosphere was inviting, and the anticipation for the waterslide-athon outweighed the importance of getting much needed shut-eye. Around one o'clock Saturday morning, everyone was fast asleep. We had a big day of fun ahead of us.

After a hearty breakfast, where I joined fellow Maryland bloggers Jennifer from Hip As I Wanna Be and Amanda from Parenting by Dummies, we all gathered in the lobby for a group picture (I'll share it with you when it's emailed). And then it was FINALLY time for the waterslide-athon. Splish Splash!!

I know it sounds like a lot of play, and it was, but we're actually help a wonderful cause. I mentioned earlier last week that we were heading to The Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA for their 2nd Annual Waterslide-athon. This event was put together to help raise funds to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America organization. Each time a guest went down the water slide, $1 was donated to the cause. I heard that the grand total was $2071. That's a lot of tube-riding, water-splashing, scream-worthy fun.

I'm hoping we can get back to The Great Wolf Lodge again so that we can discover even more. Jennifer and her husband explained to me that MagiQuest is a great investment. I know Kaden would love this.

The Great Wolf Lodge is definitely a great place to take a family of all ages and sizes. There is something for everyone to enjoy. I have to be honest, the price of our room was a bit steep, but when you think about all there is to do while there, it all makes perfect sense (or cents). Besides, any place is a winner in my book if my child comes away looking like this
