Curly's BBQ Sauced Pork Tacos
Picky eaters. I can't stand them. I guess God has a sense of humor and stuck me with a child who complains about most items that do not include the words "chicken" and "tenders". Kaden drives me crazy when it comes to food. I would say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but I only have a few gripes when it comes to food. I don't like yogurt much, jell-o, squishy food, or anything that's associated with a holiday, like (rein)deer and (Easter) bunnies. No. Thank. You.
The weekend is usually a whatever-we-can-find kind of deal for meals. This past Friday, Kaden and I decided to try a different version of our normal tacos. In our area, fish is a popular choice of food on Friday. It would have been mine if Ian's T-mobile service wasn't so horrible and he had received my request for a fish sandwich. But oh well, I found a solution. Hello BBQ Sauced {Pork}Tacos thanks to Curly's.
Using ingredients I already had at home, I convinced Kaden they would be delicious, even though I was skeptical. Here is the recipe:
BBQ Sauced Beef Tacos
Ingredients- 1 tub of Curly’s Famous Pulled Beef BBQ or Pork. (YUM!)
- 1 package taco shells
- 1 tablespoon chopped tomato
- Shredded lettuce
- 1 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon guacamole <--we didn't have this
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
Follow Curly’s microwave cooking instructions on package.
Remove Curly’s cooked tub from your microwave (careful, it’s hot).
Layer ingredients in a warmed taco shell and your ready for a
fiesta–CURLY’S STYLE!
Toppings: I used lettuce from a leftover salad kit. Instead of having it go to waste, I just chopped it up for fixing. I already had shredded cheese and a tomato from a local produce stand.
Of course you need Curly's BBQ.Heat it up in the microwave as instructed on the back of the package.
Once everything is prepared, heat up the taco shells for 40 seconds for added crisp.
Put it all together, and there you have it.
Kaden loved them. Now, I can add this to the list of items that are acceptable for Prince Kaden. He even had leftovers the next day. Does it matter that he ate them for breakfast? I sure hope not. A kids got to get his calories however they may come.
Have you ever turned your nose up at a recipe only to discover it was actually delicious?
