Flat Daddies Make the Perfect Gift

The Sunday paper is accompanied with coupons, comics, circulars, and free magazines. One of those magazines is Parade. I enjoy reading Parade because the stories covered are often ones that catch my attention and are close to my heart. Last Sunday's edition was no exception.

I came across a story titled "Wish You Were Here". The Stewart Family was being covered. They are made up of three, young children and a husband and wife. Jared, the husband, was serving our country in Iraq while Marissa was taking care of home. She said:
“It’s hard raising three kids and going through the tough stuff alone,” she says. “But Jared’s job is to focus on his work, to protect himself and his troops. My job is to hold down the fort back home.”
These are words I'm sure tons of family have uttered when a loved one is called for duty. Even if everyone appears to be strong, brave, and courageous, it doesn't mean they won't be missed while gone.

Marissa shared her story of how she incorporated a Flat Daddy into their family. Flat Daddies is
"a group that provides large images of deployed servicemen and -women for their families".

Find out how you can GIVE a Flat Daddy to a family in need. They give their life everyday for us, it's the least we can do.

Also, visit Marissa's personal blog and follow her family's journey with their Flat Daddy at A Year With Flat Daddy.

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. The story touched my heart and I wanted to share it with my readers. #ThatIsAll
