School of Rock Free Week

Is your child a rockstar? Do they perform whenever they get the opportunity? Have they mastered the air guitar? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, you may want to take advantage of the School of Rock 'Free Week'.

This year is the first year my son can play an instrument. Although he is restricted to playing strings for now, I am delighted that he wants to participate. His instrument of choice is the bass. He likes the deep sound of it. Music is a great tool of expression, especially for him. I am hoping he comes out of his shell.

Kaden's aunt purchased an electric guitar for him (Thanks Aunt Kinsey). The occasion -- just because. When he first received it I felt like I was in the scene from Michael Jackson's "Black or White" video. You know, the one where Macaulay Culkin turns the volume way up on his guitar. Yeah, that one. He even took a few lessons and discovered he really liked playing. Now, the guitar is somewhere collecting dust at his grandparent's house. Let's hope we can fix this problem.
