It wasn't the White House Easter Egg Roll, but so what!

Last year, we were fortunate enough to snag six tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll. There was plenty frustration over the decision to make the tickets available by computer only. It was a first-come, first-served basis. I had no problem getting through online, so my situation was a little more pleasant than most.

This year, however, the President decided to change the system. A lottery was put in place for everyone to get in on the action. You simply entered your information, selected a specific time slot you would like to attend, and waited for the email to say you were selected.

I was not selected this year.

At first I was pretty bummed. Then, I remembered all we went through last year, and how much walking the children did. It was cold. We were on the Metro during rush hour. The President only attended the morning events. And the kids were not 'moved' by the experience at all. I was over the idea of not being chosen in like...5 minutes.

They'll appreciate this one day. For now, I'll stick to a few dozen eggs and the backyard as our source of entertainment. Seems to be less of a headache this way.
