Training Day ~ 1
I bet you thought I was going to bore you with a review of the Denzel Washington movie, Training Day. Sorry, I'll leave that to the film critiques. Instead, I want to talk about my first day of training. It goes a little something like this:
- Toss and Turn the night before.
- Hit the snooze button in the morning.
- Double-check, no triple-check to make sure all of Kaden's items are ready for school.
- Shower, with eyes closed.
- Get dressed while flipping back between the Today Show and Good Morning America.
- Pace back and forth to overcome my forgetfulness.
- Write a note for Ian to aid in the morning routine for Kaden (which he didn't need).
- Hair, make-up, blah, blah, blah.
- Kisses and hugs.
- Out the door with shawl in hand (fall is definitely here).
- Turn the dial on the radio all the way up.
- Hit the highway.
- Arrive at training an hour later.
- Learn, watch presentations, meet new people, share stories, discover new goals.
- Eat lunch while texting and checking in on the homefront.
- Back to learning.
- Day ends.
- Back on the highway.
- Arrive at home.
- Shoes off, on the couch.
- School bus arrives and motherhood begins.
This was day 1. I have 4 more of these babies. Wish me luck.
