The Husband Behind Real Housewives of Atlanta

The great thing about joining a community is the fact that you get to take part in exclusive opportunities. These opportunities often allow you to meet and talk with people you admire, watch on television, or read about in the news. Last night was no exception as I, along with other great women, chatted with Ed Hartwell from the cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

For those of you who do not watch the show, or have never heard of the Real Housewives series (under a rock are we?), you'll have to sit this one out. Trying to describe the premise or level of drama in this series would present trauma to my readers. I'll spare you the details and let you do your own research. In other words, GOOGLE IT.

Ed Hartwell is married to Lisa Wu Hartwell. They are a power couple on the show. They have an adorable, baby boy, and are working on expanding their family. Ed is also a free agent in the NFL. He is currently working on a return to the world of football while incorporating a plan to bring baby #2 into the world. On last night's episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Ed set the mood to 'procreate' by cooking dinner and creating a relaxing atmosphere for both him and his wife. At one point, you almost felt dirty for watching the bath tub scene. For a moment I had to look away and think, "Whew, is anyone else hot?!"

After the episode aired, Essence.com created a chat to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly. We were joined by Ed Hartwell half-way into the chat. I was able to ask Ed a few questions. Here is a peek at our chat. Keep in mind that these are not all the responses, so some of the discussion may appear disjointed (comments in bold are the from the Essence.com moderators).

@ed hartwell Did you all watch last season and re-evaluate some of your actions? Were there things you weren't proud of? or Did you like the way the show went?

@Ed Tell us the truth...is this all REAL. Or is some of the drama created to make great television.

It's great to see a positive male on television who loves his wife, son, and is committed to family.

The reason Greg and Ed aren't on the show that much...not enough drama. We all know that.

11:57

thanks Keonte

Overall, the chat was great. It was an opportunity to clear-up any misconceptions and learn more about the people of the show. Ed proved to be a truly loving husband who genuinely cares about his wife. He is adamant about conceiving twins, preferably girls.

  1. Great post Keonte. I must say that it is nice to see a little bit of the husbands behind the women on the show. Ed definitely came across as Superman in the last episode. I can't wait til Thursday night's show!
