"We sat right near the mound!" Kaden's face was filled with excitement as he shared his entire day at the ballpark with his grandfather and youngest aunt. It was a treat for his grandfather's birthday, but clearly Kaden was just as thrilled to witness the game.

The weather had not been the best the entire day. Rain, clouds, and dismal views of the horizon were the theme of the day. I had prepared to send Kaden to the game with a poncho, but just as they were ready to leave, the sun began to peek through the dark of the clouds. It was going to be a wonderful day.

On Sunday, September 26, 2010, Kaden, his grandfather, and aunt attended a Washington Nationals game just minutes outside of the Maryland/DC line. (pictures courtesy of Aunt Kinsey)

Kaden tried his luck at baseball, rather T-ball, when he was four. It was the cutest thing watching a group of small children balance an enormous helmet on their head, swing a bat, and run to the correct base. I say "correct" because Kaden ran to the pitcher's mound at one of his games. It was hilarious and he made it to second base without getting out.

He enjoyed playing baseball. It was his first sport. Unfortunately, he didn't stick with it. We'll see what the future holds. He's mentioned trying it out again.

Kaden's short-lived love of baseball was inevitable. His grandfather plays baseball with a local church league. I believe he's sporting his team hat in the picture above (peep the green "C"). When he can, Kaden enjoys watching his grandfather play (and eating all of his sunflower seeds). It's great to support your family and root for the home team. And believe me, there's no shortage of cheering when this family attends a game (right grandma Harvey?!)

Even with all the cheering in the world, you cannot play a sport efficiently if you do not have the right sports equipment.
