Around this time next week, my best friend and I will be heading north for a mini adventure. Sometimes you just need a break, even if you are only a few hours away from home. Most of the time I hang out in the car and pretend to ignore the world. It never really works.
But this time, I'll be far away from the never-ending chants of "MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY!" or is that Marsha?!
While I will most likely call to check-up on my precious offspring at some point during my adventure, I am allowing myself to have fun. I can do that, right?!
Resorts Casino was gracious enough to offer me a complimentary stay in their hotel. They are located on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ, right in the mix of everything that is happening.
Did I mention we will have to bring our dancing shoes? Resorts has one of the hottest nightclubs in Atlantic City called Boogie Nights. They specialize in 70s and 80s music. You can cue the music now.
This trip is not just for fun. It's also for family. The real reason we are going to New Jersey is to support Rasha J in her leading roll as Queen in the play, "The Life". Read more about it here.
My plans were trampled by the horrendous snowfall in February. It was my intention to make the same trip to New Jersey to see her perform in "Rent" as well. We all know how that played out.
Most people are use to taking trips to blogging conferences filled with the same, ole faces, tons of swag, and opportunities to brag to the 'ones' who were left behind.
I'm a simple girl.
Give me opportunity. I'd much rather have an unique experience and share it with you through my eyes. We all know what happened when we took a similar trip last year to New Jersey...
We paid way too much in tolls
We found the 4th Wall Theater with no problem
We ate and hung out with the cast
I decided to wear this on the car ride home...WTH?!
But, I'd do it all again to spend time with these girls
Keep your eyes peeled for updates of my road trip to NJ. It's no trip to Fiji, but I make memories wherever I go.
Disclosre: " I will receive a complimentary stay at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City. The opinions and views expressed are my own and do not reflect those of the sponsor."
