The Ultimate Blog Party 2010...Girls (and Guys) Just Wanna Have Fun

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

It's here!

The Ultimate Blog Party 2010 has arrived, and there is no shortage of attendees.

Before I officially introduce myself, I thought you might like to know how you can join all the fun. Head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to read all the details.

My name is Keonte'. Yes, like the wine Chianti, which I could sure use a glass of right now. And no I'm not an alcoholic, but I do have several addictions. They include, in no specific order - shopping, Tweeting, sleeping, entertaining and singing. Did I mention I love to shop?

I am "Mom" to Kaden (8 yrs. old) and "Godmommy" to Mariah (2 yrs. old). You can call me a "mommy blogger", but that would be too general. I never was one to fit the mold. Heck, if you look in my refrigerator you may find mold there. Whatever you make of it, I like to blog, no matter how bad I suck at it.

I started blogging last year, first with a wedding blog because that was my passion at the moment (I plan to go back soon). I discovered my life was full of tiny stories that could easily make a big impression on few people. I began writing. I made virtual friends. The offers came - product reviews, giveaways, and interviews. I gained readers, followers, subscribers, and all that other statistical mumbo jumbo I try not to think about. Blogging became my therapy, and continues to do so each time I create a post. Most recently, I named Verseo's newest beauty product, everLASHing. Although unhappy about how I was quoted (that's journalism for you), I was interviewed by a local magazine on the dangers of swimming in the Chesapeake Beach.

As with most blogs, or maybe just with mine, there have been several changes over this last year. The layout, the font, the name it, I've done it. I have even changed the name of my blog until I finally settled on "Mommy 2K".

What is Mommy 2K?

Mommy 2K is a blog that documents life in its most unscripted and realistic
moments. Inspired by Kaden and Mariah, this blog focuses on their journey
through childhood and my approach to parenting. With each story that is
explored, there is always room for a great laugh, a memorable picture, or
an opportunity for vulnerability. Mommy 2K is a mom blog in the sense that the
author is a mother, but in no way is that the defining element of every
post. Life is too complex to be simplified by one title. This is an
autobiography in real-time. Stick around for the ride.

Mommy 2K is a parent of the new millennium. I am an non-traditional parent because...

Chores are not at the top of my "to-do" list.
Sugar products are consumed.
Sweatpants are not a staple in my wardrobe.
Bedtime varies from night to night.
Creativity in encouraged, not forced.
Time-outs are not in our vocabulary.
Dinners may be in the form of a box or microwaved dish.

There, I said it. You can go ahead and GASP! This is the beauty of the Ultimate Blog Party 2010. You get the opportunity to meet people and visit blogs of those you may have never discovered before. You can learn that we are not all perfect. We may even share the same beliefs when it comes to parenting, or life in general. Whatever the case, I am glad you decided to stop here to read my post. I genuinely appreciate it.
There are some great prizes over at the Ultimate Blog Party 2010. If I had to pick top prizes, I would pick these:
